Our Annual "Salute to Service" Celebration at GPH is also sponsored by MMP. (Mission Ministry Project is the Missions/Outreach Dept of GPH Church). This is a very festive time during which we celebrate a different group each year. Honorees and congregants do not know who are the surprise award winners—until we are already gathered for our family style meal! Each Honoree receives a formal invitation just minutes before they are announced and enter the room by a processional! Then, the full celebration begins! The congregation stands and applauds as they enter and we appreciate them for their service in the ministry by having specially prepared seating for them, gifts and certificates to commemorate the day. They each have opportunity to share “their story” of their service in the church. A joyous time when the people are encouraged and inspired, the honorees are made glad and Christ gets the glory!
